Every social media platform actively promotes video through its algorithm and YouTube is the second largest search engine (just after Google). If you want your content to get noticed it better be video!

If you’ve never used video before it’s understandable if you’re not sure where to start. So here are just a few examples of what you can do to throw yourself into the world of video marketing.

Don’t worry you won’t have to book out a TV studio, buy a ton of equipment or be the next Oscar winner.  This is just to get you started, allow you to experiment with what does and doesn’t work but ultimately it’s just good practice!

3. Introduction video

This is easy enough to do, all you need is yourself, a camera (even a mobile phone will cut it) and we recommend using a tripod or something to keep that camera steady. It doesn’t have to be a lengthy introduction, tell us who you are, where you work and tell us what your company can do for your audience. Remember your video isn’t about you, it’s about your audience. If you keep that in mind you’ll do just fine.

2. Customer testimonial

Grab one of your wonderful customers with a glowing review about yourselves. We’d recommend grabbing these on the fly when you have a client to hand. Frame your subject with a lovely backdrop and get them to share their positive message. Upload the final product to your social media platform of choice. You’ll find your audience will respond better to a review when they can see the client and know they’re real.

3. Show us an event

Got something cool going on? Well, believe it or not, your audience wants to know about it! It’s so easy to do, your backdrop is already in place. You have plenty going on around you, so grab that phone and get filming. You can even upload these as you go throughout the day to keep your audience updated and to make sure no one misses out on the good stuff.
